If you haven’t read Easy Virtue by Mia Asher. STOP! You do not want to participate in all things SV until you catch up on the story in EV for only 99cents!
This book, Sweetest Venom, is the epitome of why I love Mia Asher’s writing. Two men, she writes in such a way you fall in love with both, and you’re left with emptiness at the thought of having to choose. She always has this way of hitting every emotion possible from lust to love to pure anger. And I love every second of it. My heart soared and broke all within the pages of Sweetest Venom, and unlike most, I’m not a Blaire fan—but I get her. Beautifully broken people are Asher’s specialty and worth the heartache that comes with every word. My only complaint about Sweetest Venom is that the ending felt a little too rushed for me personally. The dynamic between each of these two relationships is unpredictable and heartwarming in such a nontraditional way. But Asher’s writing perfectly depicts the saying, “oh, the tangled webs we weave”.
While I love each guy for their individuality, my heart space for Law is just bigger and his story draws me in a little deeper and differently. I’d love to have some novella love for Law’s struggles which we learn more about in SV.
Mia Asher’s writing is superb. I highlighted so many eye catching passages and an assortment of the feelings these characters exposed through Asher’s publication hit home. The allure and lust she writes with pulls at all the right heart strings at all the right times. Easy Virtue left its readers with such a WTF moment but Asher perfectly settles our emotions with a heavy ending sure to have everyone feeling and with their own opinions on how they wished it would come together.
“I hope one day you wake up and realize that all those people and memories don’t determine who you are. You get to do that.”
“It may be foolish to hold on to hope, but sometimes hope is all we have left.”
